Jal Mahal, meaning "Water Palace," is a beautiful palace located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was built in the 18th century by Maharaja Madho Singh I as a hunting lodge and summer retreat. The palace appears to float on the water and is surrounded by the scenic Aravalli hills. Though five stories high, four stories remain underwater when the lake is full, giving it a magical view. While entry inside is restricted, visitors can enjoy its beauty from the banks or during boat rides. Jal Mahal is a perfect blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture and a favorite spot for photography and sightseeing.
