Hawa Mahal, located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, is one of the most iconic monuments in India. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, it was designed by Lal Chand Ustad in the shape of a crown and a honeycomb. Made of red and pink sandstone, it has 953 small windows (called jharokhas) that allow cool air to flow through, keeping the palace breezy even in summer. These windows were also used by royal women to observe street life and festivals without being seen. Hawa Mahal is a perfect blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, and a must-visit spot in Jaipur.
